Our tourism courses help you develop strong business management and communication skills, broadening your job prospects. The travel and tourism sector comprises many different industries and sub-industries, including services such as retail travel, currency exchange, tour operators and tour wholesalers.
Our hospitality courses are responsive to industry changes. COVID-19 has turned the hospitality industry on it's head! As a result, cafes and restaurants have had to quickly adapt to government restrictions imposed to ensure the safety of the public. Likewise, this has meant a new way of doing things long term for some, and opened new doors for others.
Event management is a fast-growing and dynamic sector. Our events courses provide training to help you develop a strong network of contacts in the industry, as this is essential to broaden your job prospects. Experience can be just as important as your qualification for getting a job in this area.
Macarthur Tourism, Travel and Events College (MTTEC) commenced operations in December 2015, offering online tourism and events courses. Since then, we have expanded to include several hospitality training courses and RPL assessment paths, as well as and face-to-face barista training classes. Our courses are designed for school leavers or those wishing to enter the exciting tourism, hospitality and events industry anytime through life. We're all about innovation, industry engagement, and continuous improvement so our online tourism and events courses are also suitable for existing workers wanting to further their career by upgrading their qualifications or completing targeted micro-credentials. All learning focuses on the hands-on skills required to complete a task, and takes into consideration recognition of current skills developed through on the job experience.
MTTEC is a privately owned and nationally Registered Training Organisation (RTO # 41365) with the training regulator, the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). Our nationally accredited courses meet the guidelines under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) which is the policy for regulating education qualifications in Australia. We follow the standards outlined here that all RTOs must adhere to in order to maintain accreditation. This involves periodic audits conducted by ASQA that ensures our training and assessment practices remain compliant.
