Events management is a fast-growing and dynamic sector. Experience can be just as important as your qualification for getting a job in this area. Event managers are responsible for the design, organisation and coordination of large-scale events such as conferences, festivals, corporate meetings, trade shows, exhibitions, and product launches.
They also work to coordinate one-off events like parties, weddings and meetings. They are in charge of organising and coordinating manpower and labour, as well as material effects like food and drink, presentations, amenities, security, venues, and decorations.
A course in events offers vocational training and helps you develop a strong network of contacts in the industry, as this is essential to broaden your job prospects. For further information on careers in the events sector check out the Exhibition and Event Association of Australia.
Available events and hospitality positions in the Macarthur and Wollondilly areas can be seen on our jobs board.
