Purpose

This qualification reflects the role of highly skilled senior operators who use a broad range of tourism or travel skills combined with managerial skills and sound knowledge of industry operations to coordinate travel or tourism operations. They operate independently, have responsibility for others, and make a range of operational business decisions.

Duration

The time frame for completion of the RPL process is dependent upon the number of units RPL is applied for, however, maximum time for completion is expected to be 5 months.

Entry Requirements

* Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course
* Basic computer skills
* Knowledge of common computing terms and word processing
* Proficiency sending/receiving e-mail including e-mail with attachment
* Familiarity with the Internet

MTTEC also recommends prior knowledge in the tourism or events industry is advantageous.

We recommend that you have:
• Completed Year 12, OR
• A nationally recognised qualification at the Certificate III level or higher, OR
some work experience in this industry

Qualification Requirements

This qualification provides a pathway to work in any sector of the tourism and travel industry as departmental or small business manager.

Assessment Requirements

The assessment is conducted using a combination of RPL tools. These tools include a self-assessment form, third party observation report, a practical observation report, and an interview with your assessor.
